What A Weekend!

We had a great weekend! The human went "out of town," giving us a much-needed break. It was a bit disappointing to find out that someone was scheduled to be with us for several hours the first day she left. Clearly, she does not trust us. But that didn't stop us from planning a great weekend. We knew we just had to be on our best behavior while we were being watched. And once "the watcher" left, we put our plans into motion!!
Argy wanted to throw a bathtub party with catnip and pizza. I was hoping for something a little quieter, a few neighborhood friends, some treats, and maybe some tuna. We compromised and decided to not to invite anyone over. The neighborhood cats are very unruly and love to start fights. We didn't want to take a chance of someone peeing in the house. We knew we would get blamed. And the human would never believe we had the wild orange cat gang here visiting.
We got out all the Rosie the Rats, red and white mice and strings we could find. We ordered a large pizza with tuna, anchovies and pineapple and got out the good catnip. For dessert we had chicken and gravy baby food!! We ate all we could, took selfies, played until we were exhausted and rolled in the nip until we passed out. What a night!

On Sunday morning, we heard the human was coming home so we hid the evidence and decided to play it cool. We got cleaned up and discussed how we would handle her return. We decided we would act aloof. The best approach to acting like everything was normal, was to act like we didn't care. She wouldn't suspect anything!
When she returned, we tried to play it cool. But she arrived with so many new packages that smelled weird we got super excited to sniff everything. But we both remained firmly aloof to her. She sang and tried to hug us, and aloof we remained. She gave us treats. We stood steadfast in our aloofness. She hugged and kissed us and went on and on and on and on, yammering about how much she missed us. And still we remained aloof. We were strong. So very strong.

Finally, we agreed to break our aloof agreement at bedtime. We both realized it would be beneficial for us to be able to cuddle with her. She had no idea we had it planned the whole time. As far we can tell, she has no idea how much fun we had while she was gone. She thinks we missed her. Ha! We won't tell her any different. We also won't tell her that we were glad she came home just so we could cuddle with her. And we did miss going out on the lanai while she was gone. So, we guess we are glad she is back to open the door for us.
We probably won't get another weekend like that any time soon. When we do - we are already planning a big party!!
Please don't tell her!

Chevy and Argy: It is my understanding that you also live in Florida. I would love to attend one of your parties, though I am in south Florida so it might be a little too far to go on foot/paw. Plus, I also have to wait until my humans are otherwise occupied, which does not happen very often. We will have to play it by ear. In the meantime, I look forward to more updates. 😺
